Art Extention

Every term, each SPEC class teacher chooses a few pupils to do an extention class.  You might ask what is an extention class - it is an opportunity rewarded to pupils who did exceptionally well in class and together with good behaviour, are rewarded with a merit.

Me and Melissa and about another 13 pupils from the visual Arts spec class got chosen.

What did we do??  We went to an Art Gallery that took us in for a two day class.  In those classes we learned to scalpt with clay and interesting enough, liquid soap!

The outcome.... I made a green "orange" soap - which ofcourse - I gave to my Mother for Mother's Day ... she said it was the best gift I could ever give her, because it was made by me with lots and lots of love!!!

Was it worth it.... definately YES ... it was the best time I had in my time sofar with Tawa Intermediate.  I just love art and all the possibilities you can do with it ....

It is really sad that I had such a great time but it might not be possible for other kids as well because of choices and decisions the government made with regard to intermediate spec teachers.... I was so glad and very relieved tonight when I saw on the news that the government is actually reconsidering and rethinking the issue.

I really would like to thank Ms Leary for making this possible for me ... I would remember it for a long time to come....

Me and Callista

As you know by now, Callista and I have started to teach our class Afrikaans. So we started with counting up to 10 then in the second lesson we counted up to 20.  In the third lesson we went over counting and started with basic greetings.  Tomorrow we are going to watch a movie and Callista and I have gone to extreme lengths to get a few suprises for our class.
