Trip to the snow!

"Are we there yet?'' I asked my parents from the middle of the back seat.
''NO another hour fhunny but if you want to stop and stretch then we'll be stopping in 3 minutes.''
''Okay'' I replied.

Once we got there we got into our snow gear."It's so cold mom,"
"If it is so cold then sit in the back and put your snow boots on"
"Okay,"I said as I waddled over to the side of the car the wind could not reach...
"Are you sure you don't want to ski?"
"Yea mom I would rather have a snow ball fight with my friends but i will still help everyone else get ready,OK"i said already walking over to my friends dad who was busy with a pair of snowboard boots.
Some time later we finally finished getting every body ready for their lessons."That is everyone!"said my mom with a sigh of relief."Finally!!!" I complained as I stepped through the door. The snow was bright and refreshing but most of all slippery as we waddled tripped and slided towards the rest of the group.I could see that we weren't the only ones having trouble with keeping our balance.

As I knelled to pick up my sun glasses ,a snow ball hit me right on the shoulder."Now that's how you want to play"I called to my friend as i scooped up a hand full of snow and with a grin threw it at her
(it hit her on the back).

Round about 3p.m we met up for lunch which was hot chocolate and chips ...
"Do we have to leave so soon"I nagged my parents
"Well it is not actually as 'soon' as you think, we got here at8:30 and it is 4:30p.m now and this place closes at 5p.m "
"Oh"
"And it is a 2 hour drive"answered my dad.

So my weekend was spent either driving, sleeping, eating or in the snow. But if there is one thing that I would do differently I would of made a bigger snowman.

MATIRIKI

In term 2 ,Room 13 started with our Matiriki panels.Just in case you don't already know what Matiriki is ,it is the Maori New Year.Seven stars appear round-about the end of May(or the start of June)in the early morning and that symbolise the start of the year.So we celebrate it by making Matiriki panels. And this is how we did it...
1-You planed and draft.
2- You slowly but effectively you develop the panel.
3-You buy a board which is ruffly 123cm by 41cm across
4-Paint it completely black (we did this with black Indiana ink, mixed with black acrylic paint.
5-You tape over the completely dry paint
6-You you draw your design on top of the tape
7-Cut it out with a craft knife
8-Paint the in side with any colour
9-You peel the outside tape off and when you finish that you can varnish it.

In case you wanted to know here is a description of mine...
TOP-We divided it into 3 parts so my first part is labelled as NEW GROWTH.I did 3 koros the purple and represents physical growth. The green one represent inner growth and the last gold one represents religious growth.

MIDDLE-I did 4 crosses ,each represents me and my family members, the heart represents GOD and how we each have a special relationshipwhith him, because the second third is ME...

So i hope you understand and liked my panel ,i really enjoyed doing it hopifully you also try it:);)
